Welcome to Troop AHG IL 1190!
American Heritage Girls Troop IL 1190 was started in (?). We began with approximately ? girls and have grown to over 30 girls since then! Our Troop serves families from Antioch, Round Lake, Wauconda, Libertyville, and surrounding areas. We have girls in all 5 AHG Program levels ranging from ages 5 and up.
AHG IL 1190 has bi-weekly meetings which are comprised of Opening Flag Ceremony, weekly Devotionals, Unit Time, and Closing. Our meetings last an hour and a half.
Unit Time is full of badge work, life skills, community service opportunities and fun theme nights. Our girls have an awesome time learning and growing together as they learn how God has a part in all that we do. With over 80 different badge and sports pin choices, the badges our girls earn allow them to be exposed to many different interests. Badge choices range from Sewing to Engineering, Outdoor Cooking to Childcare, and so many more!
Our troop is active in Community Service both as a troop and with girls serving individually. We regularly serve in Feed My Starving Children, PADS of Lake County, and FITMoms! Girls have the opportunity to earn the Presidential Volunteer Service Award yearly for their hours of service.
There are plenty of opportunities for girls to earn higher awards in American Heritage Girls as well, including the highest award in AHG, the Stars & Stripes Award. While some girls choose to pursue higher awards, many love AHG just for the friendships and bonds that it builds.
Our troop loves the outdoors with frequent camping, hiking, snow-tubing, and other outdoor adventure opportunities. We believe it is important that girls be given plenty of time to explore the outdoors where they learn self-sufficiency, experience situations that grow them, bond with friends, and can truly appreciate all that God has created for them. Troop IL 1190 is actively building a High Adventure team to give our girls even more opportunities for adventure!
Our Girls are busy learning and making a difference! We would love to have you join us!
